Did you know that you can make all purpose cleaners at home with minimal ingredients?


3 Natural Cleaners You Can Make at Home:


1.) All Purpose Vinegar Cleaner

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white vinegar

  • 1 cup water

  • Optional: lemon peels or a few drops of essential oil (like lemon or lavender)

How to use: Mix in a spray bottle and use like a regular cleaner.

Why it works: Vinegar naturally kills bacteria and cuts grease.

Avoid on: natural stone (like granite or marble)

This one has been well known for some time as an all purpose cleaner and its especially great at cleaning glass for a streak-free clean.

Best for: countertops, glass, sinks, bathrooms


2.) Baking Soda Scrub

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup baking soda

  • Water (enough to form a paste)

Optional add-ins:

  • A few drops of tea tree oil (antibacterial)

How to use: Apply paste, scrub, and rinse.

Why it works: Baking soda is mildly abrasive—great for lifting grime without scratching.

Best for: tubs, sinks, stovetops, grout


3.) Citrus Enzyme Cleaner (Fermented Cleaner)

Ingredients:

  • Citrus peels (orange, lemon, lime)

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 3 cups water

How to make:

  1. Add everything to a jar or bottle

  2. Loosely seal and let ferment for 2–3 weeks (release gas occasionally)

  3. Strain and use

  4. Store in a glass spray bottle

Why it works: Natural enzymes break down dirt, grease, and odours.

Best for: floors, garbage bins, odours, general cleaning

Store Bought cleaners have some many ingredients we can't even pronounce. Keep your family safe with these homemade cleaners.
